Dravidian Progress: From Dyslexia to Disclessia and then… proudly marching on to Dicklessia! (part 1/2)

Foreword: ummm… if you HAD to listen to an old, depleted guy for TWO whole BLOODY hours, extolling the virtues of LEMURIA and the virtuousness of DRAVIDAM ad nauseam, repeating that, Tamilnadu is where it is – all developed, progressive and beautiful – only because of the Dravidian movement and on and on and on…. even an otherwise sane(!) person like me would become an extremely ill-puttogether polemicist, even by my very own bloody standards!
Well, that’s what has happened to me, atleast. And, the fact that this old man is actually well read otherwise and scholarly and is sane, is all the more galling!
Yes. I am of the firm & considered opinion and conviction that, Tamilnadu is where it is now – not BECAUSE of the Dravidian movement – but, IN SPITE of the Dravidian movement. Got it, old man? It is in, whatever that is left of its basic genius, that the Tamil people have gotten some sustenance from, and not from some thieving, idiocy propagating mobs, got it?
Warning: Dear reader of this post, If you seriously believe that the idea of Dravidianism has done any good to my dear Tamilnadu, you should not proceed any further; reading this post would be dangerous to your health. Go back to the hell-hole from which you surfaced for Oxygen. This is PG45 stuff, and is not meant for Twitter trolling adolescents. Period.
Okay. You have been warned enough; read on the rest of the post, if you must; but, don’t squeal rather pathetically, later — got it?

…Yeah! Do we know that, Dravidian Progress is actually an Oxymoron?
Do we know that, it is a concept developed for the morons, by the morons, of the morons, more off than on – that is, in case you did not realize it so far…
Not that it is a startling revelation either, of course! We Tamils have known it for more than two centuries now. And, for the past nearly fifty years or so, the Dravidian Progress has been an unmitigated, unalloyed disaster for us, hapless Tamils.
Anyway…
The reason for the whole damn thing is that – the word and metaphor called ‘Dravidian’ has been a cunningly planned COMPLETE fabrication, period.
Dravidam or Dravidamn or Dravidumb — as it stands now, is NOT about a race; it is not a territorial definition; it is not even a language, not even a family of languages. It has merely become a tool of the rent-seeking thugs to seed, encourage, develop & mobilize — sheer lumpen stupidity among our Tamil folks.
Yes, it was merely a convenient tool originally developed out of a perceived necessity for political myth making, by our dear Colonialist & Evangelical Europeans (=mostly British) to:
- Divide and rule
- Develop a class of Traitors, the coconut classes – brown on the outside, white on the inside
- Destabilize the existing knowledge / working structures
- Delegitimize the existing social structures and to sow seeds of distrust
- Aid & abet the growth of an imposed exploitative system
- Spread a non-indigenous, inorganic religious belief system, and
- Authenticate the need for an insidious external intervention (= white man’s burden)
Now, this tool is used to merely seek rent by the thugs – that is, using ill-gotten wealth as an investment to wheel one’s way into a ‘profitable’ political office and then amassing more & massive ill-gotten wealth for oneself, instead of on furthering the economic agenda of the society.
Gordon Tullock – is a genius Economist who works in the area of public choice; he developed the theory of ‘rent-seeking’ in the context of USA, and then extended it to the whole humanity. Of course, he does not know that the stellar examples of his ideas would be our very own fellows from the infamous Dravidian Movement….
The framework for this dastardly rent-seekers’ movement (AKA Dravidian bowel movement = corruption) is now supposedly based & focused on the following tacks:
- To claim exclusiveness based on falsified criteria – by slotting us as different animals with an astonishing and impossibly imagined past
- To ride on the imagined greatness – ably aided by little more than ad hominem emotional appeals and oratorial outpourings
- To identify and brand a set of common enemies to pour scorn and focus hate upon – thusly to bring together other elements by way of political mobilization
- To continue to aid and abet the monstrous growth of an exploitative & unjust social system
- To sink & scuttle any reasonable discourse, to drown out signals in our dear Tamil land — by encouraging the intermediation of everything that is cultural, social, political — in terms of entertainment white noise through abysmal feature films
- To retain all the ill-gotten rent within the leadership clique & first families – allowing and appropriating the rent seeking tendencies in the middle levels of the Dravidian leadership too – leading to a fully formed kakistrocracy
- To encourage a magnificent lumpen stupidity in its cadre, and thusly plunging the political support base into a sea of mediocrity, by providing cheap liquor and TV channels.
The basic fertilizer for the development of the metaphor ‘Dravidam’ is nothing but an unalloyed & unbridled ignorance – foisted on the unwashed masses, so that rent-seekers will laugh all the way to wherever they store all their ill-gotten money.
It is one of the long term dastardly scandals of the history of this part of world that nobody wants to acknowledge. Whoa! That was a hyperbole – well, at least not many people want to acknowledge that. Sorry.

First there was Dyslexia!
dyslexia \dys*lex”i*a\ (d[i^]s*l[e^]ks”[-e]*[.a]) n.
Any of various reading disorders caused by a damaged or congenitally faulty structure within the central nervous system, and causing an impairment of the ability to interpret spatial relationships or to integrate auditory and visual information.
What the past 46 years of thoroughbred Dravidian mis-rule has done to Tamilnadu is, to ride on the foresighted & visionary plans of the congress governments of Kamaraj, Bhaktavatsalam and Rajaji.
Post 1967, what has happened is a complete neglect of long term planning, the ill effects of which are seen so starkly & grimly in the field of education; whatever that has gone on in the name of development have all happened because fo the native genius of the Tamil folks – primarily mercantile groups, homebrew entrepreneurs and innovative farming classes rather than any concerted development efforts sparked from within the Dravidian detritus. Don’t we know that we have been busy ‘scientifically looting‘ the treasury and resources of Tamilnadu?
Of course there are good roads etc etc – and most of these can be blamed on the funding and planning from the Central Government. And of course, there have been a few, pathetic few exceptions to this general Dravidian malaise in all fronts – but then, exceptions only prove the veracity, appropriateness and relentless applicability of the basic rule…
Nowhere else the effect of Dravidian Dyslexia so prominent as in the case of the sorry state of our Education and the quality of our Youth.
As a witness of what is happening at the ground level, I am truly appalled at the Quality of our produce… They cannot really read/study anything substantive; they cannot write anything substantive; they cannot gainfully process any bit of information or analyse data to come to tenable conclusions…
Do we have any reasonable number of world-class universities? Any world class colleges of education? Do we even have world-classs individual departments of knowledge? Of course there are a few real great scholars – but they are all wilting under the tidal waves of mediocrity, ably propelled by the Dyslexic Dravidians….
Do we have a reasonably good education system? Do we have reasonable educational infrastructures? Are our teachers great, um, even reasonable? Do we even have working (& well maintained) toilets in our schools?
Nah. No. Nyet. Nada. Nahin. Lethu. Illey saar!
In fact , the Dravidian memotype has only been able to institutionalize and propagate virulent forms of Dyslexia and monstrous mediocrity.
… … But still, I feel that we can remedy the problem by making concerted attempts, but then the Dravidian fallacy, or lack of phallusy if you will, and the general purposeless clowning around, has upped the ante and our society has gone to a higher level of dysfunctionality… Soon we would reach the point of no return…

ராஜாஜியைப் பற்றிக் குறிப்பிட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். அவர் அன்று சொன்னதைத்தான் மன்மோகன் 91 இல் கடைபிடித்தார். ஆனால் ஒரு நாளும் அவரை அங்கிகரிக்கவில்லை. ராஜாஜியைப்போல நன்றி இல்லாமல் நடத்தப்பட்ட தலைவர் வேறெவரும் இல்லை.
ஆனால் காந்தி உள்ளிட்டு யாரையும் விட எல்லாவிதத்திலும் உயர்ந்த தலைவர் அவர்.

பிராமணர்-பிராமணர் அல்லாதார் பேச்சு நுழைந்து விட்டதால் சில தகவல்கள்
இஸ்லாமியர் என்பதை அறிந்து கொண்டு உயிரோடு கொளுத்திய கும்பலை ஆதரிப்பவர்கள்,எம் பி போன்ற உயர்பதவியில் இருந்தவரை அவர் மதத்தை வைத்து வெறியோடு அடித்து கொன்றவர்கள் தான் நாட்டை காக்க வந்த ரட்சகர்கள் என்று கூக்குரலிடும் அதே குரல்கள் தான் இங்கே பிராமணர்கள் தாக்கபட்டார்கள் ,பழி வாங்கபட்டார்கள்,ஒதுக்கபட்டார்கள்,என்ற பொய்களை திரும்ப திரும்ப கூறுகிறார்கள்.
இந்திய அளவில் கல்வியில்,உயர்பதவிகளில்,பெண் கல்வி,வேலைவாய்ப்பு,விதவை திருமணம் போன்றவற்றில் மற்ற மாநில பிராமணர்களை விட தமிழக பிராமணர்கள் பல மடங்கு மேல்.இதற்க்கு காரணம் திராவிடர் கழகம்.
படித்த பெண்கள் தங்கள் மீது அடிமைத்தனத்தை திணிக்கும் பிராமணீயத்தை ஒதுக்கி விட்டு வேறு சாதி,மத துணைகளை தேடி கொள்வதும் இங்கு அதிகம்.இதற்க்கு காரணம் திராவிடர் கழகம்.இது தான் பெரியார் மீது சில பிராமண ஆண்களுக்கு உள்ள வெறுப்பிற்கான உண்மையான காரணம்
இளவயது பிராமண விதவைகளை,முதிய பிராமண விதவைகளை கோவில் தெருக்களில் விட்டு செல்லும் வழக்கம் உள்ள மாநிலங்கள் இன்றும் உண்டு.அவை திராவிட இயக்கத்தின் மாநிலங்கள்.
ராஜாஜி முதலவராக இருந்த போது கேரளம்,ஆந்திரத்தின் பல பகுதிகளுக்கும் சேர்த்து தான் முதலவராக இருந்தார்.அங்கு 2104 இல் பெண் கல்வி,vithavaigalin நிலையை சற்று ஆராய்ந்து பார்த்தால் உங்கள் கூற்றுக்கள் உங்களுக்கே கூச்சத்தை அளிக்கும்.

இன்று 2014 இல் சுப்ரமணிய சுவாமி எவ்வளவு நாகரீகமாக பேசுகிறார் என்பதை நாம் பார்க்கலாம்.ட்விட்டெரில் அண்ணாதுரை பாதி ஐயர் என்று அண்ணாவை ,அவர் தாயை இழிவு படுத்துவது ஆகட்டும்,விஷகண்ணி என்று சோனியா காந்தியை கூறுவது,சிதம்பரம் வெள்ளைகார பெண்களோடு அடிக்கும் கூத்து என்று நினைப்பதை எடுத்து விடுவதாகட்டும்
அன்று 100இல் 99 சதவீத பிராமண தலைவர்கள் சுப்ரமணிய சுவாமி போல இருந்தவர்கள்,பேசியவர்கள் தான்.
இன்றும் எவ்வளவு வெறுப்பு,வன்மத்தோடு வார்த்தைகள் வந்து கொட்டுகின்றன.
1920 முதல் 1950 காலகட்டத்து பத்திரிக்கைகளை படித்தாலே அன்று தீண்டாமைக்கு ஆதரவான புத்தகங்கள் எழுதியவர்கள்,தீண்டாமை,சாதி ரீதியான தொழில்களின் மேன்மையை வலியுறுத்தியவர்கள்,எந்த சாதியினரின் கூற்றுக்களை வைத்து கொண்டு நான் தான் ஆண்ட சாதி என்று சாணார்கள் ,பள்ளிகள் அடித்து கொண்டார்கள்,வழக்காடினார்கள் போன்ற நிகழ்வுகளை பார்த்தால் பெரியாரின் கூற்றுக்கள் புரியும்

ஐயா ,இந்தக்கட்டுரையை சற்று தமிழில் மொழிமாற்றம் செய்து வெளியிட்டால் இன்னும் நன்கு புரிந்து கொள்ள என்னைப் போன்றவர்களுக்கு உதவியாக இருக்கும்.

அய்யா சேஷகிரி – இதைத் தமிழில் பெயர்ப்பது இன்னமும் கொடூரமாக இருக்கும்; மன்னிக்கவும்.
ஆனால், பூவண்ணன் அவர்கள் என்னுடைய மரியாதைக்குரிய காதலர். இன்னமும் என்னுடைய ஒரு வருடம் பழைய கேள்விக் கட்டுகளுக்கு (https://othisaivu.wordpress.com/2013/03/29/post-186/) இன்னமும் பதில் அளித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார். அவரை விட்டுவிடவும்.
அவருடைய ஆதங்கங்களும் புரிந்துகொள்ளப் படவேண்டியவதைதானே?
ஒரு குழந்தை பஞ்சுமிட்டாய் விரும்பி; அதனை அளவுக்கதிகமாகச் சாப்பிட்டுக்கொண்டேயிருக்கிறது. குழந்தையில் மேல் கரிசனமுள்ள ஒரு பெருசு – அதைச் சாப்பிடாதே, உடலுக்கும் மனத்துக்கும் அது கெடுதல் என்றால் குழந்தைக்குப் புரியுமா?
அது என்ன சொல்லும்? கடைகளில் எல்லாம் விற்கிறார்களே, மற்ற குழந்தைகள் சாப்பிடுகிறார்களே என்றெல்லாம் கேட்குமல்லவா?
இதனைப் பற்றிக் குழந்தைகளுடன் ஒரு கறாரான விவாதம் நடத்த முடியாது. இது ஒரு துன்பியல் நிகழ்வுதான்.
அதுபோல, அவர்கள் திருப்பித் திருப்பிப் பேசிக்கொண்டே இருப்பார்கள். எல்லா கேள்விகளுக்கு பதில் கிடைத்தபின்னர் மறுபடியும் முதல் கேள்விக்குப் போவார்கள். பஞ்சு மிட்டாய்களின் வசீகரம் அப்படிப் பட்டது. அவர்களுக்கு அதற்கு வசீகரப்பட்டு மூளையை அடகுவைக்க முழுஉரிமை உள்ளது. நாமும் இவர்களுக்குப் பதிலை முடிந்தபோதெல்லாம் கொடுத்துக் கொண்டேயிருக்கவேண்டும். மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்… மறுபடியும்…

இன்னொரு விஷயம்: மோதி, தீரா விடம் போன்ற விஷயங்களில், பூவண்ணன் அவர்களுடன் ஒத்து வரவில்லையென்றாலும் – அவரிடம் மதிக்கத்தக்க, உரையாடத்தக்க பல பிற விஷயங்கள் இருக்கலாமே?

But perhaps Dravidian spurious liquor gives better kick than what Puvannan sir gets from his army quota.

Dear Saravanan – this is not correct.
Let us take an example of Navodaya Vidyalayas that were set up during the RajivGandhi period, in each every district of India: fantastic residential schools for the local, rural kids (6th to 12th grade), with excellent facilities for sports and arts. Totally FREE. Brilliant students, dedicated teachers. I have seen so many students from different Navodaya schools and NEVER once have I been disappointed.
But Tamilnadu was the ONLY state which did NOT want to have these schools at all. The then dastardly govt (DMK, IIRC) of TN – said it does not want these schools because of the ‘hindi imposition’ bogeyman!
However, it was actually opposed because, the then TN leadership wanted to have its ‘cuts’ per school project, and the contracts to be given to their contractors. THe central govt of course, refused!
But, I would also like to think that, it was because, these Schools would improve the educational levels in TN, and the DD leadership was terrified of it!
Oh! how many great opportunities such as this, we have missed because of our stupid and greedy leadership.
ALL the OTHER states, have ONE great local school (of course, with all reservations, 1/3rd seats for girls etc etc) per DISTRICT – that are STILL working incredibly fine! For the past some 28 years!!
The graduates of these schools are fine, responsible citizens. In fact a graduate of the first batch from Pondicherry Navodaya – is one my colleagues in school and I am honoured to have him with me. He has a whole lot of common sense, patience and willpower – and is very proud of his alma mater and teachers.
SHAME on us, rent-seeking Tamils, what else?

AIADMK was then ruling TN (remember this was Rajiv Gandhi era). MGR as Chief Minister took the decision.

That’s why I wrote IIRC = If I Remember Correctly.
But Bengal is a partner of this program of course. To my knowledge, there are some 15 JNV schools there! I do not know about this WB refusal under the leftrule.

Its a total lie that state govt expected cuts from a central scheme.Navodhaya schools are residential schools which require the state to allot land and central funding for establishment and functioning of the school.The state just insisted on voluntary language option as state policy is against compulsory hindi.
The central govt blatantly refused to accede to this request and insisted on compulsory hindi and the standoff continues till date.There is no provision for the state to get any money in central projects.
The central govt will be forced to compensate tamilnadu for its refusal to start navodhaya schools in toto in near future.The state has no issues with compulsory hindi in KVs as they are fully run by central govt funds and are basically meant for central govt employees belonging to people from other states in contrast to navodhaya schools which are meant for locals who belong to the respective districts.
School education in TN is far ahead of other states and people in central govt try hard to get posted to TN during the crucial years or leave their family in TN to complete education while they stay alone in their next posting.

Dear Sir, thanks for sharing your angst.
But, knowing reasonably well, the functioning of the governments in TN, and our education system – with the little bit of direct experience I have with other states directly and a lot of vicarious experience – I would disagree with you on many counts. What we have are education mills, that’s all.
Normally, I check facts before writing something, even if it is trivial. I have had acquaintances in high places. :-(
I do not know whether you were/are aware of what went on behind the scenes. You are free to think, what I wrote was a lie.

Sir its me poovannan.I dont know how it became anonymous.I have served in several states across the country and have a bit of experience on schooling in those states.Andhra is the worst when it comes to taxing children in the name of coaching as Andhra due its regional reservation on the basis of telengana/rayalaseema/coastalandhra could not surrender seats to central pool and where ineligible for central entrances except IITJEE for decades.
Kindly plan a visit to central govt scientific institutions(i can help you)and see the number of tamilians working in them and their ratio to their population and your favourite gujarat is in the bottom of that.

Dear Poovannan, I had been to Kalapet JNV recently. Earlier I had been privileged enough to see our neighbourhood puducherry kids of this JNV doing an EXCELLENT job at a science fair. I was/am so proud of them. NONE of them had any issues with Hindi. They haven’t become bigots. Pondy must have had an enlightened govt then.
Coming to corruption – At the time of JNVgoing on in full steam all over India, 3 of my classmates were from JNV – I was a desperate aspirant for IAS (did not make it, finally) – and one of my fellow-aspirant was TN Seshan’s nephew. Have met him a couple of times – all this some 30 years back or so.
I had also talked to a few officers in the education department at TN, then about this JNV imbroglio. The context was, I was talking to a friend of mine to start a ‘chain of schools’ in TN. It fell through.
So, the anti-hindi stance of our friendly neighbourhood looters was the outer veneer – and when it came to the question of allotment of land, there were issues. And then, when that could be sorted out, out came the share in the ‘would be’ paltry contracts. The bldgs were estimated at some 80 lakhs per school and there were only as many schools as districts- the scope for rent-seeking was not much – but still.
Now all these things are forgotten. We remember the blocking/refusal as a great deed and talk of it as a ‘sacrifice’ of TN gov – giving up JNV! All in the name of hating Hindi – but not respecting and doing something useful to our dear TamilMother!
If only we had at least this JNV – every year some 1000 fantastically educated kids would have passed out, all these 28 years – in TN alone! Imagine the loss of the multiplier effect.
Poovannan – as a person struggling on the dirt helped only by the indifference of the successive TN govts to EFFECTIVELY addressing the issues, my heart weeps. Honestly. :-(
I know there are a lot of well accomplished Tamils. No doubt about that. I really love and respect them. But they have happened in spite of DD’s misrule and NOT because of it.
Honestly – there is not even a SINGLE redeeming factor in favour of our petty dravidian leadership.

Navodaya schools where started in 1985 and MGR govt was in power.The health condition of MGR made officials defacto power centres and most of the officials where from the pre dravidian era.
Education was a state subject and indira gandhi during emergency brought in under concurrent list which has been contested till date by several states.
navodhaya schools in addition to hindi imposition was in direct conravenion to indian constitution given rights of state governments having the mandate to design their syllabus for its subjects.
Its sad that you have a fixed idea and not willing for understanding the reasons behind the opposition.
