எனக்குப் பிடித்தமான திரைப்பட இயக்குநர்கள் எனச் சிலரை மிகஅணுக்கமாக மாளாப்பேராசையுடன் வைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறேன். அவர்களில் இந்த மகாமகோ தார்கொவ்ஸ்கியும் ஒருவர். (இந்த ஜாபிதாவில் இருக்கும் இந்தியாகாரர்கள் ரித்விக் கட்டக், இப்போது – கொஞ்சம் யோசனைக்குப் பிறகு ஸத்யஜித் ராய்)
எனக்கு என்ன தோன்றுகிறது என்றால், ஏதாவது கொடுப்பினை நல்லூழ் வகையறாயெழவு போல இருந்தால்தான் ஒருவிதமான தகுதியுமில்லாத என்னைப்போன்ற ஒரு போக்கத்தவனுக்கு, வாழ்க்கையில் இதெல்லாம் லபிக்கும். அப்படி லபிக்கும்போது லபக்கென்று அதைக் கவ்விக்கொண்டு ஓடிவிடுவதற்கும் நான் தயார். ஆக, பூலோகசொர்க்கத்துக்குக் கேட்பானேன்…
ஆக, கடந்த சில நாட்களில் உட்கார்ந்து படித்த சிலபல புத்தகங்களில் இதுவும் ஒன்று:
இப்புத்தகத்தைப் பற்றிய விவரங்கள்: விற்பனைக்கு, குட் ரீட்ஸ்
…கடந்த ஒருவாரமாக என் காதில், ஓய்வேயில்லாமல் தொடர்ந்து ஓடிக்கொண்டிருப்பது — யோஹான் ஸெபாஸ்டியன் பாக்ஹ் அவர்களின் ‘ஏசுவே, உன்னை நான் அழைக்கிறேன்!’
இதற்கு தார்கொவ்ஸ்கியின் ஸொலாரிஸ்தான் காரணம். பாவி.

தங்களுக்கு சினிமாவில் ஈடுபாடு உண்டு என்பது தற்போது தெரிந்து கொண்டதால், ‘அஞ்சாதே’ படத்தை சிபார்சு செய்தேன். எல்லா சினிமா ரசிகர்களுக்கும் இதை சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறேன்.. அவ்வளவுதான்.

But Criterion collection is the best – one has to pay a little, but there are added (previously deleted/edited) footages, alt scenes, comments, interviews, annotations etc… They maintain the original/intended aspect ratio.

I really feel that ‘free downloads’ should not really be the main way of internalizing the experiences; been there done that – but…
to the extent possible, should we not encourage excellence in every thing please? therefore should we not – at least part underwrite the efforts?
sorry about this sermon – but I feel vague – not because of the piracy angle – but because of the quality angle.
because, anything that is worth doing, is worth doing well.
therefore anything that is worth watching, is worth watching in its intended original pristine glory.

பெரும்பாலும் இந்தவிஷயங்களுக்குக் காரணம் 1) தமிழில் தட்டச்சு செய்யமுடியாத சூழல் 2) சிலசமயம் அசிரத்தை 3) தமிழில் சிந்திக்கமுடியாமை 4) எழுத்துத் தமிழுடன் அவ்வளவு அணுக்கமில்லாத சூழல் 5) தமிழில் உரையாடுவதில் கொஞ்சம் சிரமம், சில சமயம் வெட்கம் — போன்ற பல காரணங்கள்… இருந்தாலும், தேவையற்ற கோபம் வேண்டாமே!
